Cat Café Studio, located in the quaint Versova neighborhood of Mumbai, India, holds the distinction of being the country’s first cat cafe, offering a heartwarming blend of feline companionship and a cozy cafe experience. Established in 2015 by founders Mriidu Khosla, Charu Khosla, and Jason Moss under the creative umbrella of Zcyphher, this nonprofit sanctuary partners with its NGO unit, The Feline Foundation, to rescue and care for special-needs and senior cats—typically hosting 15 to 40 felines at a time—all of whom are fully vetted and available for adoption. Visitors can enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with a menu featuring freshly brewed coffee, iced teas, homemade bagels, brownies, cheesecakes, and light bites like hummus with pita, while spending time in the dedicated cat lounge for an entry fee of Rs. 200 per hour, with all proceeds directly supporting the cats’ care.
