Café con Gatos

Café ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌con Gatos, also known as Cat Café Buenos Aires, is a reservation-only cat cafe in a ground-floor flat with a garden around the corner from the Abasto Shopping centre in Balvanera, close to Carlos Gardel station on Subte line B. It opened in 2021, started by three friends who had worked as tour guides, and presents itself as the first cat cafe in Argentina. Eleven resident cats live in the house and are not up for adoption, though the cafe raises money for shelters and promotes their adoptions. Visits are one-hour sessions booked by Instagram message, Wednesday to Sunday in the morning and afternoon, and the entry fee includes a hot or cold drink, an award-winning artisanal alfajor and food for visitors to give the cats. Vegan and gluten-free options are available. The minimum age is 8, under-18s come with an adult, and there is a small cat-themed shop.
