Chez Monsieur Moustache

Chez Monsieur Moustache is a cat bar on Rue de la Source, a pedestrian street off the main shopping street in central Wavre, and the first cat bar in Walloon Brabant. Anaïs and Jean opened it in 2024 with the animal welfare association HumAnima, which selects the cats living in the lounge; all of them can be adopted. Visitors come for coffee, tea, homemade pastries, soup, croque-monsieur or an aperitif, with board games and books to use. There is no entry fee. House rules ask guests to let the cats come to them, and not to pick them up or wake them. Groups with more than two children aged 1 to 10 are asked to phone ahead. Would-be adopters must meet a cat at least twice before applying through HumAnima. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday afternoons.
