Escape by the Portal is a board game cafe with a cat cafe section on Vasna-Bhayli Main Road in Bhayli, Vadodara, in The Food Castle building beside the Nayara petrol pump. It describes itself as the city's first cat cafe and first dedicated board game cafe. The cat area opened in mid-2026 and is home to a small group of rescued cats, which are vaccinated and looked after by the owners, and the cafe rehomes cats through its own adoption process. Visitors pay to spend time with the cats and are asked to call ahead to visit the cat area. The rest of the venue has more than 60 board games, VR games, an open terrace, a private party room and a menu of coffee, burgers, pasta and snacks, and it hosts game nights, open mics, comedy and music jams. It opens in the evenings and is closed on Mondays.
