Cat ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌​‌​​‌​‌‌‌‌​‌‌​‌​‌‌​‌‌​​​​​​‌‌⁠Cafe Lviv is a cat cafe on Henerala Hryhorenka Square in the centre of Lviv, a short walk from the Lviv Opera House. It was opened in May 2015 by a family displaced from Crimea, first on Stepana Bandery Street, and moved to its current address in 2020. Around 20 resident cats of about a dozen breeds live here, among them Maine Coons, Canadian Sphynxes, Scottish Folds and Straights, a Devon Rex, an Abyssinian, an Ocicat and a British golden chinchilla. The cats roam freely among the tables. There is no entry fee; visitors order from a full menu of coffee, desserts, pizza, pasta and Ukrainian dishes, and can buy treats to feed the cats. Two of the cafe's three rooms are in the basement, which also serves as a shelter during air-raid alerts, and the cafe has stayed open throughout the war. It also sells cat souvenirs.

Cherkasy

CatCafe ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​​​‌‌​​​​‌‌‌​​‌‌‌​‌‌‌⁠is a cat cafe on Baidy Vyshnevetskoho Street in central Cherkasy, open since 2015 and one of the longest-running cat cafes in Ukraine. More than ten cats live in the cafe and move freely around the room, with climbing shelves, houses and beds where they can rest away from guests. The cats are rescues looking for homes, and more than 90 have been adopted from the cafe so far. The menu is built around coffee, tea, cakes, desserts and ice cream rather than full meals, and treats for the cats are sold on site, since guests may not feed them their own food. Board games are available, and the cafe is popular with families and school groups, for whom it arranges group visits. It also runs occasional workshops and is open every day.

Ivano Frankivsk

Mama-Kishka ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌​​​‌​​‌​​​‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌​‌​​​​​‌⁠is a cat cafe on Nezalezhnosti Street in central Ivano-Frankivsk, opened in September 2021 by Yurii and Khrystyna Derkach. The resident cats were rescued from the street or from shelters, and all are sterilised and vaccinated, with their passports kept at the entrance. The cats move freely around the cafe and also have a room of their own to retreat to. The cafe has a strict minimum age of 12, introduced to protect the cats. House rules ban pulling the cats, flash photography and feeding them from plates, but staff sell treats and explain how many each cat may have. The kitchen serves coffee, cocoa, milkshakes, pancakes, syrniki, salads, soups and pasta, and there are board games and cat-themed souvenirs. Some cats have been adopted from the cafe into new homes.

Vinnytsia

Khvostyky ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌​‌‌​‌​​​‌​​​​‌‌‌​‌​​​​‌‌⁠is a social cat cafe and animal-help space on Mykoly Ovodova Street in central Vinnytsia, opposite the Water Tower. It first opened in March 2023 and moved to this larger space in December 2025. The cats were rescued from the street; the team treats, sterilises and socialises them and looks for a family for each one, and around 200 cats have been adopted so far. Visitors can also support a cat through online guardianship. The space has a coffee area with desserts and books, a separate cat zone, a pet shop and a hall for events such as yoga, workshops, film nights and social programmes for children and veterans. The cafe area is free, while entry to the cat zone is charged, with a higher rate at weekends. The minimum age is 6, and treats for the cats are sold on site.

Khmelnytskyi

Kotoprostir ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌​​‌‌​​​‌​​​​​‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌⁠Mama Cat is a cat space and mini-shelter on Zarichanska Street in Khmelnytskyi, run as an anti-cafe where visitors spend time with cats that are waiting for new homes. It started with a handful of cats and now cares for around 50, all vaccinated, and it is currently not taking in new cats while it rehomes the ones it has. The space opens to visitors at weekends. There is no kitchen; tea, coffee and sweets are available, along with board games and drawing supplies, and the space is also used for board-game evenings, small celebrations and as a quiet place to work or study. Every visit supports the cats' care and sterilisation, and the team posts regular reports on adoptions and fundraisers.

Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

PURR ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​​‌​‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌​​​​‌‌​​​​‌​​‌‌⁠Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Universytetskyi Avenue in Kryvyi Rih's Saksahanskyi District, in the 97th kvartal area. It is split into two zones: a separate room where the cats live and guests can drink coffee and play with them, and a cat-free area for eating in peace. The resident cats are rescues, and staff can tell visitors about each one and its health. Entry to the cat room comes with a minimum order per adult rather than an hourly fee. The menu covers coffee, seasonal drinks such as pumpkin latte, cold drinks, desserts and sandwiches, and cat treats can be bought to give to the cats. Children are admitted to the cat room from age 6, as some of the cats are shy or stressed. The cafe also holds workshops and sells gift certificates, and it is open every day.

Kharkiv

Kytsi ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​​​‌​​‌‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌‌​​​‌‌‌​​​‌⁠ta Kava (Cats and Coffee) is a specialty coffee shop and cat cafe on Hudanova Street in central Kharkiv. Opened in 2018 and run with a registered non-profit of the same name, it has kept working through the full-scale war. Around fifteen resident cats move freely around the halls, among them Sphynxes, Persians, a Bengal and ordinary moggies, and staff greet new guests and explain the house rules. There is no separate entry fee, but access to the cats comes with an order at the bar. The menu goes beyond coffee and desserts to all-day breakfasts, quiches and other light dishes. Books, manga, board games and a small laptop-friendly coworking corner make it a place to stay a while, and branded souvenirs are sold. The cafe is for ages 12 and over only, sleeping cats should be left alone, and photos are taken without flash.

Kharkiv

Meowroom ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​‌‌‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌​​​​‌‌​‌​​​‌​​‌​‌​‌⁠(Miaurum) is a charity cat shelter and cat anticafe on Kultury Street in Kharkiv's Shevchenkivskyi District, run with the BlueCross for Cats foundation. Since the full-scale invasion began in 2022 it has taken in cats from the streets, from combat zones and from people who found animals in trouble, and it now cares for around sixty. Every cat is examined at a partner clinic, quarantined, treated, vaccinated and sterilised before joining the shared room. There is no kitchen or menu: visitors pay for their time with the cats, with tea, coffee and sweets included, and can play board games or work on a laptop. Visits are booked online a day ahead. Children under 12 are not admitted and those aged 12 to 14 need a parent. Street shoes stay at the door, and cats are not picked up against their will. Cats can be adopted or sponsored.

Kyiv

Murcota ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌​​‌​‌​​​‌‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​‌‌​‌​‌​​​‌​⁠is a cat cafe on Volodymyra Ivasiuka Avenue in Obolon, in the north of Kyiv. Opened in early 2026, it occupies a two-storey space with a cafe, a room where rescued cats live, a coworking area and a separate children's room, plus a small library of books and board games. The cats are rescues, some of them brought from frontline areas, and all of them are looking for homes. Anyone who wants to adopt goes through an interview with the owner first, and around 50 cats have been rehomed so far. The menu covers coffee, desserts and savoury pies, and treats for the cats are sold at the counter. Small children are not allowed to pick up the kittens, and staff ask guests to let the cats come to them. The cafe also hosts workshops and English conversation clubs for children and adults, and is open every day.

LEO ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​​‌​‌‌‌‌‌​​​​​​​​‌​​​‌​​​​‌​​‌⁠cafe is a coffee shop with resident cats on Yuriia Lytvynskoho Street in Darnytskyi District, on the left bank of Kyiv. Owner Lesia Srebrodolska opened it in late 2022 as a cat-themed cafe named after her own cat, and it became a cat cafe after she took in Luna, a stray found outside in winter. Ginger Leo, rescued in Kyiv Oblast, and others followed. The cats have veterinary passports and see a regular vet. They roam freely among the tables, and house rules on the wall ask guests not to wake the cats or disturb them while they eat. There is no entry fee; visitors order from a menu of coffee, cakes, cheesecakes, mochi, salads, bowls, burgers and panini. Some of the cats are rehomed through the cafe, which works with local animal volunteers. Board games are available, and children are welcome.

Kyiv

Hatul ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​‌‌​​‌​‌‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌​‌⁠Madan is a shelter for cats and dogs affected by the war, with a cat cafe space at its premises on Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv. The volunteer group behind it has been evacuating animals from frontline areas and occupied territories since 2022, then treating, vaccinating and sterilising them before finding them new homes; more than 350 animals have been brought out of combat zones and over 200 cats rehomed. In the cat cafe room visitors can sit with the shelter cats, play with them, take photos, work on a laptop with sockets at hand or play board games. Entry is free, and coffee and light snacks are offered for a donation of the visitor's choosing, which goes to the animals. All the cats are looking for homes, and people who cannot adopt can sponsor a cat as a curator and visit it. The space is open every day.

The ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​‌​​​‌‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌​‌‌‌​‌⁠Cat Therapy Centre of the Khochukota charity (formerly Koto-Yarmarok) is a home for rescued cats on Vozdvyzhenska Street in the Vozdvyzhenka quarter of Podil. Opened in 2019, it houses dozens of cats, around forty of them listed for adoption at any time, which the foundation treats and rehomes in Kyiv. The centre is not a cafe and has no drop-in hours: the public visits during weekly one-hour cat therapy sessions, usually on Sunday afternoons, which are booked online in advance because places are limited. Sessions are free, and visitors are asked to bring gifts such as wet food, treats or parasite treatments from the foundation's wish list. The foundation also runs pilates sessions with the cats and a quest, and anyone who falls for a cat can apply to adopt it.
