Meow Cat Cafe
Tyre, South Governorate
Meow Cat Cafe is a cat cafe in Al Hosh, Tyre, in south Lebanon, next to the animal-welfare group Animal Lives Lebanon, and it bills itself as the first cat cafe in Tyre. It was founded by Laura Steinbach, who pays for the cats' food, veterinary care, cleaning and sterilisation herself, without outside funding. Visitors spend time with the cats in an indoor room furnished with sofas, cat beds and toys, and drink coffee in a planted outdoor seating area. The cats are rescued street cats that are used to people, and the cafe promotes the responsible adoption and protection of street animals; visitors in 2023 wrote of cats there that were waiting for homes. The cafe welcomes both adults and children. Its Instagram and TikTok accounts date from early 2023, and Beirut.com featured the cafe in February 2026. The cafe does not publish prices or opening hours; it can be reached by phone or through Instagram.
