Zanas Kaffebar

Zanas Kaffebar is a small family-run cat cafe on Olav Tryggvasons gate in Midtbyen, central Trondheim. Opened on 1 March 2026 by Zana Kemal Taher, it was one of the first cat cafes in Norway. Four resident cats, including two younger ones, roam freely among the tables and decide for themselves when to approach guests, with climbing furniture and resting places around the room. There is no entry fee or booking; visitors order at the counter, where coffee, matcha drinks, hot chocolate and homemade cakes and buns are served, and cat treats can sometimes be given to the cats. A small selection of books and games is available. Guests are asked to follow posted rules for handling the cats, and parents are expected to keep children from chasing them. The cafe is open Monday to Saturday.
