Waka Coffee Studio Seri Manjung, Perak
Waka Coffee Studio (Waka.画咖) is an art cafe on the first floor of the Manjung Point 3 shophouses in Seri Manjung, near Aeon Manjung, that sums itself up as art, coffee and cats. A few friendly resident cats roam the calm, air-conditioned room and wander between the tables, so you can cuddle a cat between brushstrokes. The main activity is painting: buy a blank canvas (a medium canvas was RM38) and the acrylic paints, brushes and other tools are free to use, and staff are happy to guide beginners and children. Food and drinks are ordered by QR code and include coffee, juices, cakes and simple meals, and the cafe describes itself as Muslim-friendly. With plenty of plug points, it also works as a quiet spot for laptop work or study, and visitors sometimes leave with a printed polaroid of their visit.
