Cat Cafè di Chry
Cagliari, Sardinia
Cat Cafè di Chry is a small cafe with resident cats on Via San Giacomo in Villanova, the historic quarter of Cagliari, close to the Church of San Giacomo. Cristina opened it in November 2017 as the first cat cafe in Sardinia, and it is now the only one on the island. Six former strays live here, rescued from street colonies, roadsides and abandonment, and they were settled in with the help of a feline behaviourist. They roam freely among the tables, sofas, walkways and hiding places. Everyone at the table orders from the menu, and a small cat therapy supplement is added per person. The menu runs from teas, coffees and milkshakes to crêpes, scones, cakes, savoury snacks and an aperitivo, with vegan options. Board games and a bookcrossing shelf are available. The cafe opens in the late afternoon and evening, Tuesday to Sunday, and booking ahead is recommended.
