Tetería Cleopatra
Santiago, Región Metropolitana
Tetería Cleopatra is a tea room with resident cats in a 1920s house on Pasaje Adriana Cousiño, a heritage passage in Barrio Yungay in central Santiago, near Plaza Yungay and a short walk from Quinta Normal metro station. Opened in late 2018, it calls itself the first tea salon with cats in Latin America. Eight resident cats, including Cleopatra, Hipatia, Bastet, Osiris, Nefertiti and Platón, live in the house and move freely among the tables, and each house tea blend is named after one of them. The menu covers loose-leaf teas served in pots, homemade cakes and pastries, ice cream and a few savoury dishes, with vegan options. The rooms double as a small cat museum, with cat paintings, sculptures and a large cat mural, and there is a shop with cat-themed gifts. There is no entry fee; visitors order from the menu, and bookings can be made by WhatsApp.
