Cat Cafes in Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix, Arizona

PHX ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Cat Cafe is a nonprofit cat cafe and rescue at Second Street and Garfield Street on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. It began as La Gattara, Arizona's first cat cafe, and became a nonprofit in 2020 under co-founders Carrie Schwartz and Melissa Pruitt. Guests can order from a full coffee shop menu and then book an hour in the cat lounge with typically 25 to 30 cats, most of them available for adoption and many rescued through trap-neuter-return projects its volunteers support. Reservations are highly recommended and required for any group with children under 13, who must be accompanied by an adult. The lounge closes from 2 to 3 PM daily for a cat break. Adopters apply online and receive free cat behavior consultations. Yoga, paint nights, drag bingo and private parties are regular events, and a second, larger location opened in north Phoenix in 2026.

MewMew ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Cafe is a small cat cafe on North 32nd Street in north-central Phoenix that held its grand opening in early October 2026. Visitors book a 60-minute session in the cat lounge with the cafe's rescue cats, and complimentary snacks and hot and cold drinks are offered. The lounge holds about ten guests at a time, is a no-shoe area (socks or booties are required) and is open to ages six and up, with children under 12 accompanied by an adult. Guests sign a waiver online when they book and should arrive no more than five minutes early, as there is no waiting area. Food and drinks stay out of the lounge. For now the cafe opens on weekends only. Cat yoga, painting and knitting sessions, bingo, movie nights, a children's cat camp and private parties are planned.
