Kotovsky
Perm
Kotovsky is a charity cat cafe run by Matroskin, a Perm animal shelter, in a basement on Monastyrskaya Street in the city centre, near the Okulova stop; look for the black sign with a cat at street level. Opened in December 2019, it houses about 25 shelter cats at a time, all vaccinated and sterilised and free to roam with no cages. Any cat can be adopted after an interview with the shelter volunteers, and the cafe has rehomed around 600 cats. It works as a time cafe where the fee counts as a donation, with tea, coffee, treats and board games included. Children under 14 must come with an adult, and the recommended minimum age is three. Visitors are asked not to pick up or wake the cats and not to feed them human food. It is closed on Mondays.
