Playful Paws Cat Cafe is a unique haven where you can socialize with Bend's most eligible felines while enjoying a cold beverage and browsing our selection of cat-themed merchandise. Relax in our cat lounge, where you're encouraged to play, pet, and cuddle with the cats (not the humans!). We've partnered with Cascade Canine Rescue East & West to provide adoptable cats, so you can apply to take one home with you. If adoption isn't in the cards, our cats are happy to satisfy your need for a feline fix any time you visit.

The Eugene Springfield Cat Lounge, located in Springfield, Oregon, is the area’s first cat café, opened in late January 2024 by founder Michelle Wyatt, a former physician with a lifelong love for cats. This cozy retreat offers a peaceful space where visitors can relax with adoptable cats from the Cat Rescue and Adoption Network (CRAN), a local nonprofit focused on rehoming special-needs felines. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the lounge charges $12-$15 for 50-minute sessions (with online booking discounts), hosting up to eight guests at a time to interact with about a dozen cats in a cage-free environment. Beyond adoptions, the space doubles as a boutique with cat-themed gifts from local artisans and hosts events like knitting meetups and “Paint with Cats” parties, fostering a community vibe for students, pet lovers, and those unable to keep cats at home. With a mission to enhance well-being for both people and cats, this lounge provides a soothing escape and a creative adoption alternative in the Eugene-Springfield area.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the soft purrs and playful antics of our resident feline friends, who roam freely among the plush couches and oversized cat beds. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods wafts through the air, enticing you to indulge in a cup of expertly crafted coffee or a delicious treat from our in-house bakery. With over 20 adoptable cats from local shelters, Purringtons provides a serene atmosphere where you can unwind and connect with these lovable creatures, while also supporting their journey to finding forever homes.
