L'Escale des Chats

L'Escale des Chats is a bar à chats on Rue Montgolfier in Mérignac, west of Bordeaux, which opened in 2026. Five resident cats share a quiet lounge with visitors, and the café serves artisan pastries such as financiers, madeleines and cookies, viennoiseries, milkshakes, locally made cold drinks and hot drinks. There is no timed session or entry fee; guests order at the counter and settle in with the cats, and families with young children are welcome. The lounge is set up for relaxing, and remote working is allowed. Board game and card evenings are held twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, when the café stays open into the evening. Free parking is available directly in front of the building.
