The Whole Cat and Kaboodle
Kirkland, Washington
The Whole Cat and Kaboodle is a cat care center on Kirkland Avenue in downtown Kirkland that combines a cat store, grooming, boarding and a rescue with an adoption cat cafe. Founder Nancy Howard opened the business in 2013 and added the cafe after moving to the current space in 2017. The cafe is a living-room style space with free-roaming cats, all of them adoptable, and a self-serve drink station with coffee and tea. Games, cat TV and a treat dispenser are on hand. Visits carry a per-person fee and are booked online, with reservations encouraged on weekdays and expected on weekends; children are welcome with adult supervision and every visitor signs a waiver. The rescue focuses on hard-to-place cats, many needing rehabilitation, and arranges adoptions through an application and in-person consultation. Proceeds from the cafe support its nonprofit, Feral Care.
