Neko Hiroba
Higashimurayama, Tokyo
Neko Hiroba is a rescue cat cafe in Akitsucho, Higashimurayama, about three minutes on foot from Akitsu Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and Shin-Akitsu Station on the JR Musashino Line. It is run by the NPO Cat Support, which works on community cat care, spay and neuter promotion, sheltering and rehoming in the Higashimurayama area, and the cats in the cafe are rescues waiting for adoptive families. The cafe opens to the public on Saturday afternoons, when anyone can come in to spend time with the cats, whether or not they are thinking of adopting. Visits are charged per hour, with extensions in 15-minute units. On weekdays the space is used only for adoption meetings arranged by phone. There is no parking, so visitors arriving by car should use nearby coin parking.
