It is split over two floors, with dogs downstairs and the cats upstairs, and visitors can stay over a drink in the tea room.

Mao Xiao Ji is a cat lounge on the third floor of Guangming Plaza on Xihu Road, close to the Beijing Road pedestrian street and Dafo Temple in Yuexiu. The simply furnished room keeps a varied group of good-looking pedigree cats. A single flat entry fee covers unlimited time on weekdays and weekends, with no compulsory food or drink order.

Miao Wu is a large pet cafe on two floors of the Baide Commercial Center on Gongye Road in Shiqiao, Panyu, opposite the Panyu hospital of traditional Chinese medicine. Opened in 2014 with a dozen cats, it now covers more than 1,600 square metres and houses several hundred animals of eight kinds, including dozens of cats, dogs, capybaras, long-haired rabbits and guinea pigs, with climbing frames and a sunny cat room. The kitchen serves coffee, light meals such as curry rice, and lemon tea. The cafe takes in abandoned and stray pets and cares for them until they find new homes. It earlier traded from the Hecheng Building on Xingnan Avenue.

Bukesiyi de Miao (Incredible Meow) is a Japanese-style cat cafe and cattery on the 24th floor of the Hualong Building on Tianhe Road, entered through the iron gate beside the convenience store; calling ahead for directions helps. Visitors can borrow kimonos for photos, and besides the cats there are dogs and exotic pets such as hamsters, with staff announcing interaction times. Cats are also sold. Bead crafts are offered, and the windows look out over Tianhe.

Gmi is an American retro-style cat cafe on the ninth floor of an apartment tower at Agile Huitong Tiandi on Yongfa Road in Huadu, Guangzhou. Staff introduce each cat by name and personality. The menu covers coffee, milk tea, cakes, snacks, simple meals and craft beer, and spending is modest.

Bai Ri Meng (Daydream) is a small cat cafe and cat-boarding shop on the eleventh floor of an office and apartment tower in the Wanbo business district of Panyu, Guangzhou; navigating to the Agricultural Bank of China Huanan branch brings visitors to the building. Visitors order drinks and play with the resident cats, and cat treats are sold for feeding.

Meng Zhua Yan Jiu Suo (Cute Paw Lab) is a Ragdoll-themed cat cafe on the 14th floor of the Wanyi International Boutique Plaza on Qiaoguang Road, near Haizhu Square station on Metro Lines 2 and 6. Around 20 cats, mostly Ragdolls, live in the high-rise flat. Visitors buy single or double packages with drinks, and calling ahead is advised. The cafe also offers cats for adoption.

Gu de Mao Ning is a cat cafe and adoption house on the second floor of a building on Tianhe South 1st Road, in the Liuyun residential streets about 500 metres from Tiyu Zhongxin station on Metro Line 1. The bright white room has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the cats range from shy to very affectionate. Visitors can simply spend time with the cats, and those interested in adopting talk through each cat's temperament with the staff first.

This Mao Xun An branch on Beiqiao Road in Shiqiao, Panyu, is a cat cafe that also keeps capybaras. Visitors can stroke the cats and scratch the capybaras, which roll over to have their bellies rubbed. Visits are by entry ticket or package. The chain has other cat and capybara cafes in Guangzhou, at Foshan's Lingnan Tiandi and in Zhaoqing.

The tidy room has separate play and rest areas for the cats, and visitors can also make bead crafts. As a cattery, it also sells cats.

Mao Yuan (Cat Garden) is a cat cafe and cattery on the second floor of a building on Tianhe South 1st Road, near the Tiyu Xi Zhongxin bus stop in central Tianhe. Thirty to forty cats live there, including Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Devon Rexes and calicos, and a staff wall lists each cat's name, sex and personality. Visits are by booking, so the room does not get crowded. Some of the cats are sold or offered for adoption.
