Cat Cafes in Glasgow

Glasgow

Meow ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Woodlands Road in Glasgow's West End, opened in 2024 near Charing Cross, a few minutes' walk from St George's Cross Subway station. Its cats share the cafe with visitors: some were raised by the owners from kittens and others were rescued and given a home here. Visits are one-hour sessions with an entry fee per person, higher at weekends, and a non-refundable deposit secures a booking; walk-ins are taken when there is space. Children must be 5 or older and accompanied at all times. Guests remove or cover their shoes, outside food and cats are not allowed, and a triple-door system keeps the cats from slipping out. The menu has coffee, tea, bubble tea, iced drinks and cakes. Students get a weekday discount outside school holidays. The cafe is open every day.

Purrple ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Cat Rescue is a Scottish cat welfare charity with its rescue centre and cat cafe on St Enoch Square in Glasgow city centre, beside St Enoch Subway station and about ten minutes on foot from Central and Queen Street stations. It opened in March 2026 as the successor to the Purrple Cat Cafe on Trongate and is home to more than thirty resident rescue cats, many with medical or behavioural needs. Some cats in the centre and in foster homes are available for adoption through the charity's application and home-check process. Visits last an hour and the entry fee, lower on weekdays and for members, is paid on arrival and goes to the charity. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking is advised, and groups with children need one adult for every two under-16s. Coffee, mocktails, cakes, sandwiches and soup are served, and Thursdays end with a quiz night.
