Cat Daddy's Cat Cafe
Columbia, South Carolina
Cat Daddy's Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on North Main Street in Columbia, between the Cottontown and Elmwood Park neighborhoods about two miles north of the State House. It began when the owner, Mohammad, started feeding and then taking in stray cats from the neighborhood, and the cafe is now home to more than a dozen rescued resident cats. The coffee bar serves drip coffee, espresso and seasonal lattes made with locally roasted beans, lemonades, ice cream and desserts, and visitors pay for a 30-minute or one-hour session in the separate cat room. Socks are required in the cat room, and cat socks are sold at the desk. Walk-ins are welcome, and booking ahead is recommended at weekends; the room can also be reserved for parties. The cafe sells cat merchandise and local goods and holds occasional adoption events.
