Żurrieq Cat Cafè
Żurrieq Cat Cafè is a public cat sanctuary on Triq il-Belt Valletta in Żurrieq, in the south of Malta, run by the Żurrieq Local Council with volunteers. It opened at the end of May 2025, when the council called it Malta's first cat cafe managed by a local council. Despite the name, it sells no food or drink, though visitors may bring their own coffee. Stray cats from the area live there, and volunteers and visitors can feed them, stroke them and spend time with them. A separate quiet room is kept for feeding and for cats recovering after neutering. Most of the cats are friendly and used to people, while new arrivals are often shy, and some visitors have adopted cats from here. No entry fee is advertised, and visitors can help with a donation or by bringing cat food. Visits depend on the volunteers, who are usually there in the mornings, so it is worth getting in touch through its Facebook page or by phone first.
