The Happy Cat Luangprabang
The Happy Cat, formerly known as Luangprabang Cat Cafe, is a vegetarian and vegan cafe-restaurant on Kingkitsarath Road in central Luang Prabang, open since 2022. A small group of rescued cats lives on the premises and roams freely among the tables, with a private area away from guests when they prefer not to socialise, so sightings are not guaranteed; early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to meet them. There is no entry fee, and visitors simply order from the menu of Lao and Southeast Asian dishes, smoothie bowls, coffee and juices. Donations from guests go to Rescue House Luang Prabang, a local animal shelter. The cafe is plastic-free, and guest rooms are available upstairs. It is open every day from breakfast until late evening.

Little Tiger Cat Cafe
Luang Prabang0.3 mi / 0.4 km
Little Tiger Cat Cafe is a fantasy-themed cat cafe on Sisavangvong Road in Ban Pakham, the main street of Luang Prabang's old town. It opened in mid-2026 above Ori Bakery: drinks and homemade cakes are served downstairs, and the cat room is upstairs. Entry to the cat room is by ticket, which includes a drink; drinks are finished downstairs, as food and drink stay out of the cat room. Around 18 cats and kittens live there, a mix of rescues and pedigree cats including Maine Coons, and they go home with the owners at the end of the day. The air-conditioned room has toys, castle-style decor and photo spots, and staff stay with the cats during opening hours. Cat treats can be bought downstairs. Birthday packages are offered. The cafe is closed on Mondays.
ปลูกชา ณ น่าน
Nan118 mi / 189 km
Pluk Cha Nan (ปลูกชา ณ น่าน) is a quiet tea cafe in a small lane off Mahaprom Road in the centre of Nan town, where a family of resident cats has made it known locally as a cat cafe. The cats are friendly, though a few are shy and independent, and visitors can buy food to feed them. The speciality here is southern Thai-style tea, with strong, fragrant Thai milk tea, Malay-style tea and lemon tea alongside coffee, all at friendly prices. The shady, leafy space is calm enough for working or reading, and there is a picture-painting activity that children enjoy. The lane is narrow, so it is best to park at its entrance and walk the short distance.
Le Cattitude Cafe
Vientiane137 mi / 220 km
Le Cattitude Cafe describes itself as the first cat cafe in Laos. It occupies the second floor of the Sujipuli Books & Things bookshop on Samsenthai Road in Ban Kaoyord, Sisattanak, so many visitors browse the books downstairs before heading up to the cats. The resident cats include Maine Coons, Siamese and other breeds, and staff say they are vaccinated against rabies. The room has plenty of space and hiding spots, and staff do not push the cats to interact with guests. Visitors either order at least one item per person from the menu of coffee, teas, sodas, cakes and French-style pastries, or pay a set cat contribution instead. Board games are available for a rental fee, and cat treats can be bought to feed the cats. House rules are posted on the tables. The business also runs a cat hotel. It is open every day.

The menu ranges from signature and coconut coffee, matcha and Thai tea to brownies and other baked goods, plus local dishes such as Chiang Khan-style tam sua, all at reasonable prices. My Healing Cafe
Nong Khai146 mi / 234 km
My Healing Cafe is a minimalist cafe in Nong Kom Ko on the edge of Nong Khai town, tucked down Soi Don Du 5 near Nong Khai School, that bills itself as Nong Khai's cat cafe. The white-toned interior has lots of photo corners, an outdoor seating area and an air-conditioned room with a glass-walled cat zone, home to a group of fluffy, friendly cats. To go in and play with the cats, buy a drink and wear a face mask; a lint roller is handy for cat hair afterwards. The menu focuses on coffee and other drinks, plus sweets and bakery items rather than full meals. The approach is along a narrow village lane, but there is reasonable parking at the shop. It is a calm place to sit with a drink and watch the cats.
