Sip & Purr Cat Café

Sip & Purr Cat Café is the city’s first cat café, born from founder Katy McHugh’s memorable encounter with a friendly tabby named Gigi in Amsterdam. This cozy spot blends a stylish café vibe with a mission to find homes for adoptable cats, partnering with Lakeland Animal Shelter to house spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped felines ready for adoption. Guests can enjoy locally sourced Ruby Coffee, craft beers, wines, and snacky treats—many with vegan and gluten-free options—while relaxing in a cat-free café area or booking time in the separate cat lounge for cuddles and play. Currently transitioning to a new location on Milwaukee’s vibrant Brady Street, Sip & Purr is temporarily closed for the move but continues foster-based adoptions, offering a unique blend of community, compassion, and feline charm since its 2018 debut.
