NEKO Bellingham

NEKO Bellingham, situated at 1130 Cornwall Avenue in downtown Bellingham, Washington, is a delightful haven where visitors can unwind with rescue cats and enjoy a variety of beverages and snacks. This cozy spot features 20-25 adoptable cats from the Whatcom Humane Society, offering a spacious cat room for booked sessions where guests can interact with the felines, alongside a cat-free cafe area to sip coffee, tea, cider, or Japanese-inspired drinks like Wednesday Cat Japanese Wheat Beer while watching the kitties play through large windows. The cafe’s mid-century modern vibe, complete with cat beds, shelves, and toys, creates a clean and inviting atmosphere free of any “cat smell,” perfect for relaxation or even a work-from-cafe experience. Reservations are strongly recommended for the cat room to ensure a spot with the kitties, and the fully ADA-accessible location also offers branded merchandise like shirts, pins, and cat toys in its re-tail shop. Founded by Caitlin and Cory, inspired by their love for cat cafes in Japan and Vietnam, NEKO Bellingham blends a passion for animal rescue with a welcoming social space.
