Mog on the Tyne was a cat cafe on Pudding Chare, a narrow lane a short walk from Newcastle Central Station, and the first cat cafe in Newcastle. Founded by Katie Jane Glazier, it opened in 2015. Its resident cats came from rescue organizations, and visitors paid an admission fee toward their care and had food, cakes and drinks such as coffees decorated with paw prints while the cats roamed. Booking was recommended, and the cafe closed for an hour each afternoon to let the cats rest. After almost ten years it closed on March 2, 2025, and the cats went to new homes.
