Fancy Cat Cafe
Fancy Cat Cafe is a coffee shop and cat lounge on Getwell Road in Southaven, Mississippi, just south of the Memphis city line. Opened in January 2026 by Matt and Crystal Stephens, who have worked with local rescue groups for more than a decade, it is the first cat cafe in the Memphis area. The cafe side serves espresso drinks and cold brew made from small-batch roasted beans, house-made syrups, teas and pastries baked each morning, and is open daily from early morning. A separate, larger cat room holds around 15 adoptable cats and kittens from local shelters and foster groups, and staff help visitors start the adoption process with the cat's rescue. The cat room is open Tuesday to Sunday from late morning, visits are paid, and reservations are recommended. The cafe partners with the Pet Compassion Centers and does not take in cats from the public.

Something Pawsitive
Paragould, Arkansas83 mi / 134 km
Something Pawsitive is a cat lounge on South Pruett Street in downtown Paragould, in northeast Arkansas, attached to Something Sweet, a bakery run by the same owner. Opened in February 2021, it houses adoptable cats from Ozzie's Legacy, a local rescue, and every cat in the lounge can be adopted; hundreds have gone home since the opening. Visitors check in at the bakery first and then pay for cat time by the 15 minutes, half hour or hour, with the longer sessions earning a discount on food and drinks from Something Sweet. Walk-ins are accepted but may have to wait when the lounge is full and are guaranteed only 30 minutes, so booking a day ahead is recommended, especially on Saturdays. Donations of time, supplies or money help care for the cats, and gift cards cover the lounge, the bakery and its sister eatery.

Tortitude Cat Café
Paducah, Kentucky163 mi / 262 km
Tortitude Cat Café is a cat cafe on New Holt Road on the west side of Paducah, and the only cat cafe in Western Kentucky. It opened in September 2024. The cafe acts as a foster home for 15 to 20 vetted cats and kittens from its rescue partners Catt's Cats, All About The Cats, Jackson Purchase Forgotten Felines and Huntingdon TNR, and the cats roam freely in the lounge. Guests buy drinks and packaged snacks in the front shop, which also sells gifts, and can take snacks into the lounge. The number of guests in the lounge is limited, so reservations are encouraged and walk-ins cannot always be fitted in. Everyone signs a waiver. All the cats can be adopted, and kittens go home only once they are at least 14 weeks old, spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated. The cafe welcomes donations of toys, food and litter.

Cattyshack
Huntsville, Alabama190 mi / 306 km
Cattyshack is a nonprofit cat rescue with a cat lounge in Studio 1062 of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, the converted cotton mill full of artist studios and galleries in west Huntsville. The rescue, founded in 2019, keeps its cats in foster homes and brings a rotating group of adoptable cats and kittens into the home-style lounge on Fridays and Saturdays, so visitors can play with them or simply relax in their company without any plan to adopt. Reservations are required and are made online with a set donation per person. Adoptions start with a non-binding application and are processed by volunteers, so cats are not taken home on the same day. The lounge is reached through Door 2 of Lowe Mill, with an accessible entrance at Door 4, and a visit is easy to combine with a walk through the studios.
