Crooked Tail Cat Cafe is a rescue-focused lounge housing up to 12 adoptable cats from Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network in a cage-free environment. Visitors aged 5 and up (with kids 5-12 requiring adult supervision) can book reservations to spend time with the cats, enjoying a 100% plant-based menu of coffee, tea, and snacks that can be brought into the lounge. As North Carolina’s first cat cafe, opened in November 2017 by founder Karen Stratman, it aims to provide a safe, relaxing space for cats to find forever homes while offering a therapeutic experience for guests. The cafe limits guest numbers for cat comfort, recommends reservations, and uses proceeds to support its rescue efforts.
