This inviting haven welcomes guests to savor expertly crafted coffee from Dogwood Coffee Co., Rishi Tea, or rich hot chocolate, alongside local pastries and charcuterie boards, while offering the unique chance to relax with seven resident cats—including fan-favorite Tim the Enchanter—in a separate, comfy den. Founded by Vanessa Beardsley after years of dreaming of a community space inspired by her childhood living room with cats, the café features a Coffee Lab for educational classes and a back patio with murals by local artist Ara Elizabeth, blending warmth with a touch of whimsy. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Monday and Tuesday), Catzen Coffee provides a purr-fect retreat for coffee lovers and cat enthusiasts alike, fostering a calm, welcoming vibe in St. Paul’s Macalester-Groveland neighborhood.
