Cafe Torcello

Cafe ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Torcello (카페 토르첼로) is a cat cafe beside the Baenaegol valley stream in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, in the mountains on Ulsan's western edge, right by the Baenaegol exit of the Ulsan–Hamyang Expressway and an easy drive from Yangsan and Busan. Its cats live in the Cat Forest (고양이숲), a room kept apart from the cafe seating where more than 20 cats spend their days. Entry to the Cat Forest costs 8,500 won per person: you pay at the counter, put on an entry wristband and read the safety rules before going in. Visitors are asked to wait for the cats to come to them rather than picking them up or chasing them, to speak quietly and move slowly, to leave sleeping or eating cats alone and to take photos without flash. Only the churu and treats sold at the counter may be given to the cats. You can also use the cafe without visiting the cats; each guest orders at least one drink, and bakery items, which are not baked on site, don't count towards it. There is a terrace overlooking the valley and a car park, and the cafe says children are welcome. It is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, until 7 PM on Saturdays, and closed on Wednesdays. When rain floods the low causeway on the usual approach, the back bridge on the overpass side is the way in.
