Cafe Gatto

Cafe Gatto is a rescue cat adoption cafe in a renovated 1921 farmhouse in Shinbaru, Koga, about 10 minutes by taxi from JR Koga Station or one minute from the Shinbaru Kominkan stop on the weekday Koga community bus. Its cats were taken in after being found sick or injured or after their owners could no longer keep them, and all are looking for new homes through the cafe's adoption system. The cats live in several separate rooms grouped by FIV and FeLV status, and a cafe space behind clear acrylic walls lets visitors watch them over coffee or cake. Cat room visits are charged per 30 or 60 minutes, must be booked online by 6 PM the day before, and begin with a short rules video and quiz. Visitors must be junior high school age or older. Opening days are irregular and posted monthly.
