Reading Cat Garden
Taipei City1.5 mi / 2.4 km
Reading Cat Garden (讀貓園) is a cat foster home and adoption space on the third floor of a building on Xinglong Road in the Muzha area of Wenshan District, Taipei. The volunteer group behind it previously ran a foster cafe on Heping East Road and reopened in this smaller space in 2026. It is not a cafe with a kitchen: visitors pay an entry fee of NT$150 for two hours, which includes self-service snacks and drinks, and spend the time reading, playing chess or the piano, or resting among foster cats waiting for new homes. The cats come mainly from public shelters, and the group has rehomed more than 500 of them; anyone interested in adopting can ask the volunteers. Last entry is an hour before closing, it closes on public holidays, and extra rest days are announced each month. The second floor is a board game shop, and the door up to the third floor is at the back of the shared corridor, past the second-floor toilets. The room can be rented for small classes and events.

The minimum spend is just one drink or one main per person (children under three are exempt), visits are limited to 90 minutes, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who shows them how to interact gently. Guests are asked to follow the house rules for the cats' wellbeing, and the cafe can also be booked for private events.

Taipei City1.7 mi / 2.7 km
Cats Got Nothing To Do Café (貓空閒) is an open-air cafe in Maokong, the tea-growing hill area of Wenshan District, on an open lot opposite No. 33-7 on Lane 38, Zhinan Road Section 3. It sits among the cluster of tea houses and restaurants about a seven-minute walk (around 550 m) from Maokong Gondola station. Seating is outdoors under canopies and parasols, facing the valley with a view across Taipei to Taipei 101, and there is a further seating area up a short flight of steps across the road. A few cats live on site and wander among the tables. Each guest orders at least one drink, and the menu runs to coffee, tea, juice and light snacks. It stays open late, until midnight and until 3 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and because all seating is outdoors it may close early when it rains. Payment is cash only.

Cataholic Cat Café
Taipei City2.9 mi / 4.6 km
Cataholic (愛貓成癮) is a cat hotel with a small cafe on the second floor of a building on Zhuangjing Road in Taipei's Xinyi District, about a 10-minute walk from Taipei 101/World Trade Center MRT station. Its main business is boarding: visiting cats stay in private rooms with high ceilings, large windows and two 24-hour cameras, at NT$1,100 to NT$2,500 per cat per night, and the hotel has won Good Design and Golden Pin design awards. The cafe is kept separate from the hotel rooms, and the cats guests meet there are the two resident Bengal siblings that serve as the shop's cat managers, so it is a cafe with a pair of house cats rather than a room full of cats. Cafe visits are booked online, with a minimum spend of NT$300 per person for two hours, and children under 12 are not admitted. The menu runs to salads, croissant plates, coffee and desserts.
